Origin Story
Born and raised in Calgary, I’ve spent the last 28 years as a fashion stylist—on set, on location, in closets, and backstage—helping people feel like their best selves. It’s been an insanely fun, heart‑filling career, but I've also been a lifelong skincare lover and someone who’s dealt with eczema and dry skin for as long as I can remember.
Skincare has been an obsession since my teens. My sister and I would geek out over cleansers, toners, moisturisers—anything that promised better skin. Growing up in a dry climate, my face didn’t give me too much grief beyond dryness, and that early, consistent routine really paid off. I hit my early 50s with pretty healthy skin… at least on my face. (My eczema story is a whole conversation on its own.)
Things changed in my mid‑40s. I started noticing the usual suspects: fine lines, crepey bits, and that tired look around the eyes that no amount of concealer could fix. I went hunting for solutions and was hit with a wall of noise—endless products, wild claims, zero accountability. Some things worked a bit; a lot of it was just expensive disappointment. I was tired of the bullshit: the fake promises, the filters, the idea that aging is a “problem” to erase instead of a reality to support.
Then I met Annie.
I was hired to style for her skincare brand—something she actually formulates and manufactures herself in her lab, Atomic Pom Labs. We ended up trading services: I styled, she treated my skin. Her non‑surgical treatments gave my face the boost it needed, and her formulas helped me build a routine that finally made sense for where my skin was at. Over almost a decade, Annie became my skincare mentor and, eventually, my influence in bringing a new idea to life.
That idea is AbadFace Skincare.
Yes, it’s a play on my last name—and honestly, it’s the best last name. AbadFace is my answer to the frustration I felt as a Gen X consumer: I wanted clinically substantiated, science‑driven skincare that actually speaks to my generation (and our younger Millennial cousins), not just to 22‑year‑olds on TikTok.
We formulate in Canada, in small batches, powered by marine actives like brown kelp, next‑gen peptides and other cutting-edge ingredients. Everything is backed by testing, rooted in real science, and created with people like us in mind—those of us who are age annihilating, not “anti‑aging”; who want visible, honest results without the hype.
AbadFace is for the generation who grew up on skin scraping exfoliates and tanning beds, survived the Vaseline era, and now want skincare that respects our lived‑in faces. It’s for the dry‑skin, “I’ve tried everything” folks who care about what’s in their products and who’s behind them.
I built this brand the same way I’ve built looks for clients for nearly three decades: by listening, editing, and focusing on what actually works.
Thanks for being here—and welcome to AbadFace.
